Bringing a new revolution to the IT industry in
India and to make the citizens of the nations techno savvy, the Prime Minster
of India, Narendra Modi is encouraging everybody to come and be a part of the "Digital
India Week", inaugurated in Delhi yesterday by the PM himself. The inauguration
ceremony, the presence of the PM, was attended by all big names in the Indian
IT sector along with a whopping number of spectators who were pleased and
cheerful to attend an event like this in India.
This IT event is being considered as one of the
major steps taken towards the uplifting of the Information and technology
scenario in the country with every possible measurement to make life easy and enjoyable
through the use of IT for people. Modi dreams to make people advanced and derive
more from the technologies in the coming years and this is just a beginning of
the effort.
Modi said, "I dream of a digital India
where high-speed digital highways unite the nation; 1.2 billion connected
Indians drive innovation; technology ensures the citizen-government interface
is incorruptible."
To be scheduled to be held for one week, the
first day of the event brought together some of the top industry houses who are
pledging investments worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore in various technology ventures
that can potentially add 1.8 million jobs. This IT event will not only boost
one to use the IT in their lives, but will also generate a bigger number of
employment opportunities for the new generation of the country to be more self
dependant and financially sound.
A number of digital programmes which are going
to be used by the BJP led government towards better and easier administration were
also being announced at the event which include- digital lockers to store
documents, e-Sign using Aadhaar, e-Hospital systems, National Scholarship
Portal, Centre of Excellence on Internet on Things (IoT) and a high-speed
digital highway.
