The State Disaster Management Authority has issued Low Urban
Flash Flood alert today for the next 24 to 36 hours at Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar,
Tarun Nagar, Ganeshguri, Hatigaon, Dispur area of Guwahati city.
Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati predicted heavy
rain in the city in next 48 hours.
At least 15,000 people are reeling under the fury of flood
in Dhemaji, Kokrajhar, Chirang and Bongaigaon districts of Assam. Official
sources said that 78 villages have been affected in recent surge of water.
Three rivers are flowing above the danger level. No relief camps have been set
up as of now.
