Voting is underway at 190 polling stations for the Tiwa
Autonomous Council elections on Wednesday.
746 polling officials are engaged in the process in various
parts of Morigaon district, while another 300 polling and presiding officers
remained in reserve.
All the zonal magistrates along with 19 sector officers took
charge of supervision duty. Eight companies of paramilitary forces were
detailed to maintain law and order in the TAC poll areas.
Counting of votes will be held on August 22 at the District
Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Morigaon.
